I had a great cruise to Alaska! We first went to Seattle, Washington because that is where the ship was in harbor. The city isn't as nice as I thought it would be. It was very dirty and there were A LOT of strange people there. While we were walking around we saw this cool street performer who was balancing a guitar on his chin while playing it (but not holding the guitar), dancing in a hula hoop, singing, playing harmonica, and keeping beat with his foot that had bells tied to it! We also walked around the market where people were selling things like clothes made out of plastic water bottles or things made of duct tape and stuff, but everything was really expensive!
We got on the cruise ship the next day. Everything was really nice. It seemed so big, but after being there a while, I knew my way around perfectly. I went around by myself a few times too. You never ran out of things to do either. There was a kids club that you could go to when you were bored where they had scheduled events like t-shirt coloring, crafts, video games, ping pong tournaments, and guitar hero. There were a lot of other things for families and adults (not in the kids club, but scheduled events onboard) like bingo, name that tv show theme song, touring the galleys, and TON of other stuff. There were a bunch of indoor and outdoor pools and hot tubs and by the pools was this sundae bar where you could make a huge sundae for $2.50. One of the nicest parts of the cruise was that all the food was free (except alcoholic beverages and the ice cream bar and soda). There were these huge buffets with food everywhere (we all gained a few pounds after the trip from all the food :D). Even at the fancy restaurants you could get free food. Sometimes at the fancy restaurants they would have a formal night so we would have to dress up and stuff.
When we docked into Alaska we got off the boat and went touring. We went on some tour boats too and saw whales, dolphins, icebergs (they were everywhere), eagles, and sea lions!! We went ziplining too. It was kind of scary at first, but it was so fun once you got used to it!!! That was one of my favorite parts of the trip. We also stopped in Victoria, Canada at the end of the trip, but we never got off because it was really late. There were mountains and amazing views everywhere in Alaska, too. I used to think of it as a barren place with snow everywhere :)
By the way, all of those pictures up there were taken by my dad.
