Big news!

Yesterday I tried out for a Christian youth orchestra for homeschoolers, and I got in (I play violin by the way)!! The songs are kind of easy, but the director gave me the sheet music for the 3rd violin, which is the easiest group with the violas. Third violin doesn't supply the melody for the song, it sort of just supports the other 2 violins that provide the melody. My violin teacher says I should be on maybe 1st or 2nd violin because the songs are way too easy, and that is more of the beginners group. We are playing different songs like the 3 movements of Autumn by Vivaldi, William Tell Overture, and a bunch of other ones. When our orchestra masters our songs, we have a concert for the parents and play at nursing homes and stuff. There are a bunch of different ages and instruments. There are kids who are in highschool to kids who are in 1st grade (or something around that grade). We have instruments like the cello, viola, lots and lots of violins, flutes, and trumpets. I think everyone is mixed up in their experience level. There is a kid who has been playing violin for 11 years, but is only in book 2 of my violin curriculum!! I've only been playing for about a year and am halfway through book 2! He must have been doing like 2 songs a year or something (not to be mean or anything, but it's just really surprising):P

Congrats.

I play cello. I've only played for two weeks, but i can tell it's going to be fun learning a new instrument. It's hard work, though.

That is really neat! Whats it like playing with all those different instruments?

I don't know yet! lol. I haven't actually played with everyone yet, but it's probably going to be really fun! I've only tried out with the director.
